2003 / This work was made in collaboration with the botanist and
plant ecologist Dr Hugh Ingram. A number of sites throughout Scotland
were visited and images created to reveal unique ecological narratives
where rich layers of information were held in the geology and vegetation
present there, indicators of interactions between vast expanses of time,
geological conditions, weather systems, and habitat.
The installation takes the form of a 5m x 7.5m back-projection screen onto
which a series of 26 different photographic images are projected each day
of the exhibition using a high resolution, medium format slide projector.
Commissioned by The Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow.
